A Cleaner Louisville:
Register for Cleaner Louisville
The
Portland
section of
Louisville
is an impoverished, rundown section of the city. We’ll partner with the
Louisville
City
Waterfront
Park
to clean up this area. We’ll have the opportunity at this project to be involved in dirty, messy hands on work. We’ll be picking up trash and raking leaves all in the name of Jesus! Through this project we hope to obey our mothers and leave the city of
Louisville
better than we found it! Students serving with this project will need to wear clothes they can get dirty and close toed shoes!
Days: Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday
Time: 12:30-4:30
Capacity: ~75 students/day

Edge Outreach Ministries:
Register for Edge Outreach Ministries
Edge Outreach is an extension of Pure Water Pure Life ministries of
Louisville
. The work we’ll get to do with Edge will be primarily construction-related. We’ll get the opportunity to wield a hammer and help them with their on-going building projects in low income neighborhoods. Also, we’ll be able to help with demolition and landscaping too. To work with this project requires you to fill out a release form, team covenant, and a medical indemnity form. You must bring these forms filled out with you to the service project! Students serving with this project will need to wear clothes they can get dirty and close toed shoes.
Days: Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday

Wayside Christian Mission:
Register for Wayside Christian Mission
Wayside Christian Mission provides emergency housing for men and women of
Louisville
, Bible studies, meals, recovery programs, and job training. It offers people a second chance and gives them the necessary skills to care for themselves and their families. At this project you’ll have the opportunity to serve in a more relational way. You’ll have the opportunity to play with and care for little kids or you can play sports with older children. Also, you’ll have the chance to serve lunch at the shelter or help with general clean up around their facility. At this project you’ll have a number of ways to be Jesus. We’ll work at both their family shelter and their hotel for the homeless.
Days: Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday

This Service Project is full and no longer accepting registrations.
Home of the Innocents:
Many children today are abused, abandoned, or neglected; the Louisville Home of the Innocents exists to help such children. Some children live at their facility and others come temporarily to receive care and counseling. At this project you’ll be able to encourage the work by cleaning or organizing, and you’ll to play with and love on the children.
Days: Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday
Time: 2:30-5:30 (time was originally 12:30-4:30 - changed on 3.30.10)
Capacity: ~20 students/day

The cost to register for the Service Projects is $20.00 per person. $20.00 is for transportation expenses only. All project supplies and expenses will be covered by LIFE 2010.
